We Believe
What We Believe and Teach
- The Godhead consists of Three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit
- God is One in essence, with three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
- The First Person of the Trinity.
- Eternal – God existed before time and will exist after the end of time
- Self-existent – Nothing/no one created God
- Sovereign – that which he decrees will come to pass
- Holy – perfect and separate from sinful man
- Is the Second Person of the Trinity
- Is eternal and self-existent
- Was born of a virgin
- Is truly man and truly God
- Suffered substitutionary atonement for sin throughout all time
- Was resurrected bodily from the grave and ascended to Heaven
- Sits at the right hand of God the Father, where He is our Advocate, Intercessor, and Mediator
- Is Third Person of the Trinity
- Dwells within every regenerate follower of Jesus Christ
- Chief among His many functions are the care, comfort, and correction of the follower of Jesus.
- We believe that God created man and woman as biologically unique beings
- We believe that God created marriage as an institution to be entered into by one biological male and one biological female and, once entered into, is to be terminated only upon the death of a spouse
- We believe that God established marriage – as defined above – as the only permissible relationship in which sexual activity may be practiced
- We believe that Human life is sacred
- We believe that Human life begins at the instant of conception and is to be honored and protected
- The inspired (God-breathed) Word of God
- Inerrant in the original autographs
- Profitable for teaching correction, reproof, and training in righteousness, so as to equip the man and woman of God for every good work
- Authoriative
- Sufficient to equip the follower of Jesus for a life of faith and service
- Is ordained by God, initiated by Jesus Christ, sustained by the Holy Spirit
- Has as its members, invisibly, all those who have come to saving faith in Jesus Christ, and
- Visibly, those regenerate believers who worship and serve in a local body of believers
- Administers two ordinances: believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper
- The Lord Jesus Christ will return to judge His enemies, save His people, and consummate His kingdom
- That eternity in the loving presence of Jesus Christ is assured only to those who by faith have confessed and received Him as their Lord and Savior
