On Sunday, Pastor Dave gave an overview of our new sermon series, Redeeming Love, from the Book of Ruth. He helped us place the story, noting it is in a dark season of Israel’s history when “everyone did what was right in his own eyes” (Judges 21:25b). He challenged us to consider how the Lord is at work even in times when it doesn’t seem clear. He also assured us that before time began, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit planned the story of Redemption. As we see the story unfold through the lens of Naomi, Pastor Dave encourages us to remember that in view of the bigger picture, the Lord is the main character. Everything from Genesis 3 to Revelation 22 is the redemptive story pointing to Christ, our great Redeemer.
