O Come, All Ye Faithful

Heaven and Nature Sing

This first Sunday after Christmas, we will be celebrating the gift of Jesus “Immanuel”. The next hymn in our series is “O Come All Ye Faithful”. The scripture we would like for you to read and pray over is Luke 2:15-20. In the verses preceding, God had sent angels to shepherds in the field to be the first to know that “a Savior who is Christ the Lord” had been born. Christ Jesus had come for us. We are called to come as the faithful, not because we are faithful in and of ourselves, but because Christ - the Faithful One - has come for us. Our adoration of Him infuses us with faithfulness, which in turn brings joy and triumph to our lives.

Scripture References: Luke 2:15-20

From Series: "Heaven and Nature Sing"

Some of our favorite Christmas hymns are steeped in doctrine and bring forth in worship what the Word has proclaimed. In this series our pastors will show us how some of our most revered hymns are born from scripture.
